Posted in Real Estate on 19.03.10

bend-oregon-bank-foreclosuresPurchasing a home is a very, very big decision and it is one that should never be rushed into and never taken lightly.  However, that seems to be exactly what is happening to a lot of people, they are actually rushing to get the very best rates and the lowest mortgages, however it is not exactly the best plan.

In the next couple blogs, we are going to talk about why you do not want to take advantage of the prices that bank-owned homes are giving off.  For one, you never know exactly what you are going to be getting, as you can usually just see the home from the outside as you are bidding on it.

Sprucing Up Your Yard for Spring: 2

Posted in Property on 23.02.10

spring 2Although it is not quite spring, it is actually the perfect time to do some prep work for your landscaping. For starters, get all your tools ready, and make sure your hoes, your pruning shears, and your shovels are sharp. Make sure the blades in your lawnmower are in good shape as well.

You can also start the process of testing your soil. This is especially true if you have had problems growing anything in the past or if you are sodding a brand new lawn. You may not yet be ready to till the soil, but you can test it.

You can also prepare your shed, garage, et cetera, by disposing of any chemicals that might be outdated. You can also begin stocking up on items like fertilizer.

Sprucing Up Your Yard for Spring: 1

Posted in Property on 21.02.10

spring 1Sure, it might still be February, but believe you me, spring is just around the corner, and it may well arrive earlier in some parts of the world than in others. Regardless, spring is a great time to get started with sprucing up your yard — for the sake of making it look nice, of course, but truth be told, there are other reasons as well.

For one thing, spring is an ideal time for selling homes, or for renting out houses and apartments. You have heard of spring fever, right? Well, around this time of year, when the weather finally starts getting warm enough to actually melt all the snow, people are ready to renew their lives — and for many, that can be relocating. It is a hopeful time to move.

So, we are going to talk about some of the things you can do to prepare to landscape in the spring!

Fixing Your Home Up On A Budget: 2

Posted in Real Estate on 13.02.10

home-improvementsNow that we have talked about air filters and such, let’s move onto damaged caulking and some dirty tiles.  These two things are super easy to fix, all you have to do is head to the hardware store and chat up some of the employees.  Even if you are not handy, you can get a lot of information from these people that work in hardware stores and they are a fantastic resource that you should be using.

To be perfectly honest, caulking is super easy, all you need is the caulk and one of the machines to push the caulk through and you are all set!  Fixing dirty tiles is also extremely easy, all you need to do is brush them off and even go over them with some white vinegar.

White vinegar is a great agent to kill a lot of germs and to brighten and whiten those tiles right up.

Overcoming Call Reluctance: 2

Posted in agents on 02.01.10

cold_callNow that we have talked a little bit about doing the cold calls, let’s go ahead and explore some of the tips and tricks that I have for you to overcome your fear of making them.  One of the first things that you need to do is make sure that you are realistic with yourself and set goals that you know that you can achieve.

For example, if you know that you can call fifty people a day and talk to them, then by all means, call fifty people but if you know that you can only call ten people in one day, make sure that you do that.  You want to make sure that you are setting goals that work for you.

Next, make a list of everything that you can tell your prospects about yourself, why you are the right person to work with them and what benefits you have.  It makes a difference, believe me.

american-brewery-loftsNow that you know exactly what you can expect from a loft, how do you find one that suits your exact needs and what you want out of a building?  Well, I can tell you for sure that finding a real estate agent is going to be the best bet in finding exactly what you want.

What a real estate agent can do for you is take what style that you tell them that you want and do a little bit of research and find something that suits your style.  For example, you can pick a specific location or even a specific area and they will be able to tell you what is available in your price range.

Keep in mind though that lofts are not cheap – they are actually really expensive, so keep that in mind when renting.
